Romania’s Association for Metropolitan Mobility and ETL Mobility Cluster will organize the 7th edition of the Metropolitan Mobility Forum, between 23 and 25 of November 2016, in Braila and Galati cities. The 2016 Autumn edition theme is the “Sustainable Metropolis 21”.
The forum is the place to debate topical issues for the mobility markets of Romania and Central and Eastern Europe, which for several years are going through an intensive modernization process. Forum participants will approach subjects related to the new factors shaping the mobility and urban development markets. In Romania’s case, the two major factors that will impact the transport and mobility market at the end of 2016 are: the launch of calls for urban mobility projects in order to access European funding and the adoption of Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans by a large part of major cities.
In this context, it is expected an increase in purchases of environmentally friendly vehicles and infrastructure works dedicated alternative transport. An efficient organization of public transport will also be carried out by enhancing the role of public transport authorities and by establishing relationships with public transport operators based on public service contracts.
We extend this invitation to register for the Metropolitan Mobility Forum. Should your agenda does not allow you to join the Forum, we invite you to disseminate the information to your interested colleagues.
The panel dedicated to financing solutions and tools will address both environmental characteristics of mass transport vehicles and transport infrastructure, both eligible for non-reimbursable financing sources, as well as other financing sources for public transport and urban development projects.
We intend to contribute to a better knowledge of sustainable mobility related technologies on the market. The abundance of innovative solutions and technologies for public transport vehicles and infrastructure (from those addressing the optimization of operating costs, to digitalization and the creation of the intelligent urban space) is a challenge for both the competent authorities in charge of the organization of mobility, and the public transport operators. The selection of adequate technologies must be a result of local factors analysis combined with excellent information provided to competent authorities. The public transport vehicle exhibition represents the best solution to gain this knowledge.
